An aromatic plant with a host of benefits!
Rosemary is a shrub belonging to the Labiaceae family and can grow to a height of 1.5 metres. It is commonly found on Mediterranean coasts where it grows in the wild. Rosemary is easy to recognise in any season because of its evergreen leaves and the distinctive scent of its essential oil. In addition to its aroma, the leaves and flowers of rosemary are frequently used to facilitate digestion (in a dose of 2 to 4 g, 3 times/day as an infusion).
Rosemary is also known to regulate cholesterol metabolism, stimulate the liver (1 tsp/day of macerated plant), maintain physiological purifying functions (2 to 6 g/day of plant) and contribute to elimination functions (in a dose of 1.5g of leaves several times per day).
In addition, it contains antioxidants which occur naturally in its leaves (50mg/day of dried leaves…).
