The slimming benefits of nopal
Better known by the name of prickly pear, nopal (Opuntia ficus indica) is a cactus regularly consumed in Mexico. The leaf of this cactus, known as a cladode, is known for its high fibre content.
Nopal, which nowadays is used as a slimming ingredient, is made up of a combination of fibres capable of attaching themselves and trapping in the stomach some of the fat particles ingested during meals. These are then eliminated naturally. In this way Nopal helps to support slimming and contributes to lipid metabolism and weight control (in a dose of to 2g/day).
