Harpagophytum

Harpagophytum

"Devil's claw" for your joints!

Harpagophytum derives its nickname "devil's claw" from its fruits; these have sharp curved hooks that get caught in the coats and fur of animals which struggle to get rid of them.

Traditionally used to promote good joint function, harpagophytum is believed to have the power to help strengthen the musculoskeletal system and maintain joints in good health (in a dose of 1.5 to 4g/day of dried root).

These secondary roots contain harpagosides.

Fleurance Nature has selected an organic variety of harpagophytum procumbens, produced using a harvesting and drying technique that respects the natural life cycle and sustainability of the species. The plants are harvested on the fringes of the Kalahari desert, in Namibia. A small trench is dug at a distance from every flower, leaving the main root securely in place and extracting only one section of the secondary roots. The trench is systematically filed in after harvesting to ensure regrowth. Every harvest is then analysed and packaged in France.
