Highly prized by Berber women for millennia!
Dating back several million years, the argan tree grows best on the arid and semi-arid plains of Morocco where its roots slow down the process of desertification. Berber women harvest its fruits, extracting from them a precious oil which is extremely high in omega-6 unsaturated fatty acids with nourishing and softening properties, and in vitamin E ,an antioxidant particularly beneficial to the skin. The argan tree is currently threatened with extinction because of the desertification affecting many parts of Africa. However, restoration of the argan forest (arganeraie) and promotion of argan products constitute solutions that can help prevent its extinction and combat desertification. Fleurance Nature has therefore opted to source its fruits from the Souss Valley argan plantation in its country of origin, Morocco. The premium quality fruits harvested from the argan trees are crushed, and then ground to extract an outstanding cold pressed oil. The women's cooperative responsible for managing this argan plantation guarantees a fair income to its employees, enabling them to operate with real autonomy.
